Laura is with child!
There have been many jokes in the past both verbally and on this blog, but it's finally true. She had her first ultrasound yesterday and everything up to this point checks out great. It's an experience that I can't even attempt to explain when you hear your baby's heart beat. At this point he/she is only a little over 1/2", about the size of a gummy bear.
Laura is positive that it's going to be a girl but I'm not sure if this is based on some internal instinct or the countless Internet tests / Chinese calenders she's been doing. I'll be happy either way but I'm guessing it'll be a boy.
We'll keep you updated.

By the way two of my three are supposed to be girls too. And I can promise you they are not! I hate those stupid chinese birthing charts! I am gonna say that that is why I cry when I have found out they are ALL boys, I just had my hopes up!
I am not trying to say it isn't a girl, but do not get your hopes up. If it is a girl, I will make her the cutest stuff! WHOOPEE!

OHHHHHH! I'm so excited for you guys! I kept trying to remind myself to call Laura on Monday to see how the appointment went, but forgot of course so thanks for the post, now I'm reminded again. Isn't that the coolest appointment ever? first child...hearing the heart beat...all the excitement! Congratulations again, I can't wait for you to be a dad Ben, you'll be awesome!

AHHHHHHH!! This is the best news. This is going to be one beautiful baby. Ohhhh I can't wait to hear more and see pics of Lauras cute tummy. She is going to be that cute preggo girl that is skinny all over and then has a cute little basketball inside. Take pics and post em for all of us! How far along? When is the due date? Congrats you guys! We are so pumped for you both.
And. . . there is nothing more incredible than hearing your babies heartbeat on the monitor.

Hooray! I have known for a little bit, and I was going to email you congrats, but I forgot! So, CONGRATULATIONS!!! Kids seriously make life so fun. They can be difficult and frustrating, but I promise you will never laugh harder in your life once they come.
